Even in the heart of winter, construction progress continues across Kenowa Hills Public Schools. Throughout February, crews have maintained steady momentum on facility improvement projects. Each milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to providing safe, modern, and welcoming spaces that support students, staff, and families. Take a look at the midwinter progress helping shape the future of Kenowa Hills
Phase 1 Project Update
Phase 1 work on the new baseball and softball fields continues to take shape as winter progresses, moving us closer to completion. The press box is nearing the finish line, with concrete poured, roofing installed, and windows and doors now in place. The bathrooms have been painted and are almost fully complete. The dugouts are also coming together, with roofing completed and protective netting scheduled to be installed to shield players from foul balls and line drives. Fencing now outlines the fields, and overhead netting will be added soon to further enhance safety for both teams and spectators. As soon as weather conditions allow, crews will turn their attention to completing the parking lots and sidewalks to round out this exciting first phase of improvements. The project remains on track to be finished in time for the upcoming season, ensuring our student-athletes can take the field in a safe and upgraded space.

Phase 2 Project Update
Phase 2 construction is also progressing steadily as work continues on the new athletic team room addition and visitor team facilities. Structural steel is in place, and the exterior brick veneer has now been installed, giving the buildings a more complete and polished look. Brick veneer is a non-structural layer of concrete brick used as an exterior cladding or interior accent. Inside, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough-ins remain in progress as crews prepare the interiors for the next phases of construction. At the visitor team building, masonry walls are complete, and the soffits, fascia, and framing have all been finished. With each milestone, these new spaces are coming together to better support our student-athletes and visiting teams.

Even as winter weather continues, the steady progress across both Phase 1 and Phase 2 projects reflects the careful planning and dedication behind these improvements. Each milestone brings us closer to enhanced facilities that will serve our students, athletes, and community for years to come. We look forward to sharing additional updates as work continues and appreciate the ongoing support that makes these projects possible
