Kenowa Hills’ athletic bond projects continue to advance this fall with construction underway on the baseball and softball fields and new team rooms. These upgrades will enhance facilities for student-athletes and create a better experience for fans.

Baseball and Softball
Exciting progress is taking shape across the new Kenowa Hills baseball and softball complex! The varsity baseball and softball fields now have the artificial turf installed, showcasing a beautiful finish complete with the Kenowa Hills logo at center field. These fields are set to be ready by March for the spring season. Both dugouts and the shared press box are nearing completion! The upper section of the press box is being prepared for trusses. The JV baseball and softball fields will feature natural grass and are also moving steadily toward completion. Behind the complex, the new retention pond is complete, and the practice fields—designed for school curriculum as well as community use by lacrosse, soccer, and football—are leveled and seeded, with grass already beginning to grow.

Stadium Upgrades
Work is also underway on the next portion of the athletic improvements. To the south of the football field, site work has begun for the new discus and shot put area, which will provide an upgraded space for track and field athletes. Construction plans also include a new visitor team room and visitor restrooms. This new building will be located south of the current visitor bleachers stand, which are also being replaced with ADA seating. At the north end of the football field, work has begun on the new home team rooms. Crews are currently digging footings for an addition that will include a new hallway and entry. Looking ahead, new home stadium seating and press box are also planned to replace the existing bleachers, which date back to the 1960s, giving the football complex a much-needed refresh for both players and fans.

As progress continues across all of these exciting projects, the transformation of Kenowa Hills’ athletic facilities is becoming more visible each week. These improvements will provide our students, athletes, and community members with spaces that reflect the pride and spirit of the Knights. None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our community. Thank you for investing in our schools, our students, and the future of Kenowa Hills Public Schools.
